The size of your Rheem commercial water heater depends on your business's hot water demand. For small businesses like restaurants, a 50- to 75-gallon tank may be sufficient. Larger establishments like hotels or schools may require a 100-gallon or more tank, or even an Electric Eemax tankless commercial water heater that can handle high demand without storing water.
Rheem commercial water heaters are built to last. Depending on the model and regular maintenance, you can expect your Rheem commercial water heater to last between 15-20 years. Regular care, including flushing the tank and inspecting the system, can help extend its lifespan.
Inconsistent water temperature: If you notice fluctuating temperatures, the thermostat or heating elements might need attention.
Strange noises: Popping or rumbling can indicate sediment buildup, which affects heating efficiency.
Water leaks: If you see water around the base of the unit or hear dripping sounds, it might be time to replace the heater or check for internal issues.
If your Rheem commercial water heater isn't producing hot water, it could be due to:
Electric models: A tripped breaker or faulty heating element.
Gas models: A pilot light failure or a problem with the gas supply.
Thermostat malfunction: A broken thermostat may prevent the water from reaching the desired temperature.
Example: If you’re running a busy restaurant and suddenly lose hot water, it could be as simple as a tripped circuit breaker or a misaligned thermostat in the unit, however if the issue continues, call your plumber or reach out to Rheem tech support: 1-800-432-8373
Regular maintenance ensures that your Rheem commercial water heater stays in top working condition:
Flushing the tank annually: Removes sediment buildup that can reduce efficiency and cause overheating.
Changing the anode rod: Prevents corrosion in the tank, extending its life.
